Christophe Gin, born in 1965 in France, is a photographer renowned for his work in black and white, focusing on social and environmental issues.

He started out as a photojournalist in the 1990s and joined the VU' agency in 1998. His photography highlights realities that are often forgotten, such as those in French Guiana, where he has been exploring human, political and ecological issues since 2001.

He has won numerous awards, including the World Press Photo Award in 2003 in the ‘Daily Life’ category and the Carmignac Photojournalism Prize in 2014 for his ‘Colonie’ project. His work has been exhibited at Visa pour l'Image, the Collection Lambert in Avignon and the Fait et Cause gallery in Paris.
